Scott E. MacFarlane

Scott MacFarlane has dedicated over 22 years to MacFarlane Energy, bringing a background in Pre-law and Business to his role. Beginning his career in the Heating Oil industry in 2002 with coding service billing, Scott quickly recognized opportunities for enhancing efficiency and accountability in both home services and fuel delivery. As an early adopter of wireless dispatching in 2003, he has consistently leveraged technology to keep the business at the forefront of the industry. His current initiatives include employing artificial intelligence (A.I.) to improve customer experience, streamline record-keeping, and identify key areas for training and development. Under Scott’s leadership, MacFarlane Energy has grown significantly, now employing over 100 people. He has played a pivotal role in business acquisitions, talent development in the trades, and the implementation of continuous training and best practices within the organization. Scott is actively involved in the industry, serving on the Energy and Environmental Committee for the New England Council (NEC), as Vice Chair at the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association (MEMA), and as Chair of the Greener Heating Fuels PAC, which he helped found in 2022. His previous roles include Government Affairs Chair of The National Energy & Fuels Institute (NEFI). Additionally, he has served as a trustee of their Education Foundation and as Chairman of the American Energy Coalition’s Marketing Committee.
