Lee Blitstein is the Managing Partner and founder of Blitstein, Young and Blinder, a California law firm providing legal services to employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television Broadcasting from California State University, Northridge, in 1984 and his law degree from Southwestern Law School in 1987. Mr. Blitstein began his workers’ compensation career representing injured workers before transitioning to defense work, representing employers and insurance carriers in complex workers’ compensation matters, including catastrophic injuries, coverage and employment disputes, Labor Code Section 132(a) cases, serious and willful misconduct claims, and sworn personnel matters. He served as a Judge Pro Tempore and, from 2005 to 2009, as a Workers’ Compensation Judge for the State of California. In 2014, he was named one of SEAK’s “50 Most Influential People in Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Medicine.” Mr. Blitstein is also a frequent lecturer to attorneys, medical professionals, human resource personnel, risk managers, brokers, employers, and judges on workers’ compensation litigation, case resolution, trial strategy, fraud, and other related topics.
