Joe Sweeting

Joe joined AXIS in October 2019 as Head of Lloyd’s Casualty in the reinsurance division. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the AXIS Syndicate and sits on both the Group Operational Risk and Risk Management Committees. Joe has worked in the Insurance Industry for over 20 years. His focus has always been on Casualty business having worked in both the Insurance and Reinsurance sectors. After starting his career in claims he then moved into Underwriting with Amlin spending almost a decade there before moving to start the Casualty Reinsurance portfolio at Hiscox. He then worked at Vibe Syndicate which was a start-up operation before moving to AXIS in 2019 to lead the Lloyd’s Casualty Reinsurance team. The Lloyd’s Casualty team has a global appetite and a broad range of Casualty Reinsurance products to offer. We write business across the globe typically for small to medium sized operations (usually under $500m of subject premium). Our philosophy is to back the specialists, be a quoting market and offer meaningful support to partners that align with our risk appetite.
