Jim Townsend

Jim Townsend is the Executive Chairman of Townsend Energy, a fourth-generation family-owned company based in Danvers, Massachusetts that distributes BioPure heating oil, propane, gasoline and diesel fuel and provides HVAC, electrical, plumbing and insurance services across New England. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the eMaxx Assurance Group of Companies, Inc., Chairman of Townsend Insurance Group and a Board Member of Biofine Development of New England. In addition, Jim is a member of the NEFI Executive and Finance Committees and acts as NEFI’s liaison with the Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business for the NEFI Leaders Program. Over his career he has served as Chairman of NORA, NAORE, the New England Fuel Institute, the TOV Insurance Group and several national industry committees, and has been recognized with numerous honors including the NEFI Legends Award, the Teddy Roosevelt Award and the Charles Burkhardt Lifetime Achievement Award.
