Deborah Ryan

Deborah is a Technical Investigator/Accident Reconstructionist in the Technical Investigations unit at eRisk Solutions, LLC, where she handles accident and other technical investigations. She was honorably discharged from the Massachusetts State Police (M.S.P.) on July 7, 2022, after completing 34 years in law enforcement, retiring with the rank of Major. Her time with the Massachusetts State Police included 10 years within the Accident Reconstruction Section, where she supervised the Northeast Team as a Sergeant, while continuing to carry her own case load. There she was responsible for the daily investigation of serious and fatal accidents within the Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk counties in Massachusetts. As team leader, she was also responsible for the daily supervision of other assigned investigators and for the successful and competent completion of their investigations. She has testified as a court-qualified expert on dozens of occasions in Massachusetts courts. During her time within the Accident Reconstruction Section, she investigated over 400 serious/fatal accidents and assisted on approximately 450 more. She ended her career as the Troop Commander at Logan International Airport, overseeing day to day operations and supervising over 185 M.S.P. personnel, who were responsible for the safety and security of Logan, Worcester and Hanscom Airports, as well as other Massport-owned properties in East Boston and the Seaport of Boston. As the Troop commander she was a member of the Airport Law Enforcement Agencies Network (ALEAN) and the Massachusetts Port Authority Policy Advisory Committee and has an active ‘Secret’ security clearance. She is certified/trained in Advanced Accident Reconstruction, Commercial Vehicle Collisions, Pedestrian/Motorcycle Collision, Advanced Physics, Human Kinematics, and the imaging and analysis of data contained in vehicle ACM’s. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College and a Master’s degree from Western New England College in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration.
