Juliana Canales Schmidt practices in the workers’ compensation practice group at ZKS. Juliana’s practice is devoted to defending employers, carriers, and servicing agents in Florida workers’ compensation cases, including appeals to the First District Court of Appeals. She is also a certified instructor of continuing education classes for adjusters, employers and attorneys. Prior to joining ZKS, Juliana worked as an insurance adjuster for FCCI Mutual Insurance Company. She also has experience as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, using vocational testing and working with individuals who suffered brain injuries. Juliana also represents abused and neglected children as a Guardian Ad Litem through the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association. Juliana has been awarded the Legal Aid Society’s Certificate of Appreciation recognizing the exceptional degree of service Juliana has provided in her pro bono work as a Guardian Ad Litem. In addition, Juliana provides pro bono services as a Teen Court volunteer.
