Mike Manit

Upon graduating with honors from CSUC Chico with a finance degree in 1993, Mike started his insurance career with Federated Insurance Company.  During the following 12 months, Mike learned the fundamentals of commercial insurance while attending the companies’ home office training program in Owatonna MN.  As a direct writer for Federated, Mike was assigned a territory in Northern CA where he serviced and grew his book of business.  Mike was promoted to the companies Association Risk Management Services (ARMS) position 3 years later at which time he took over the responsibility of working with the boards of directors for the trade associations and buying groups recommending the company throughout California, Washington, Idaho and Oregon.   While his tenure in ARMS was brief, his success propelled Mike to another promotion to Federated’s District Marketing Manager in California’s Bay Area. Overseeing 11 marketing representatives from the northern part of San Francisco, to just south of San Luis Obispo, Mike’s district was number 1 in the company for new life and disability income business production and number 3 for new property and casualty production.  Shortly thereafter, Mike joined forces with his pre-acquisition agency partners Rick McConnell and Doug trout, also Federated alumni, to launch their own agency, McConnell, Manit and Trout Insurance Services (MMT).  With a commitment to specialize in a select segment of more complex risks utilizing a consultative approach with unsurpassed service, MMT grew to become one of the premier agencies specializing in refuse, recycling, trucking, energy and related segments.  MMT was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher in March of 2020.  Mike and his team remain committed to the very tenants that have elevated MMT and Gallagher alike; expertise in the markets served, consultancy and unsurpassed client service.
