Matt is a partner with Porteous, Hainkel & Johnson, LLP and defends lawsuits throughout Louisiana. He joined the New Orleans office in 2006, and later moved to the Baton Rouge office in 2012 where he remains, with a majority of his practice in the capitol region, central and western Louisiana. He primarily practices in the defense of personal injury claims, as well as lawsuits in transportation, insurance coverage, premises liability, property, bad faith/extra contractual, construction and commercial type cases. As a trial lawyer, Matt serves as lead counsel in complex cases involving multi-million dollar catastrophic losses, both at trials and in mediations. He is a member of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, Defense Research Institute and Claims Litigation Management, including local defense bar associations. Matt also serves as a Board Member for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industries (LABI).
