Christie Geter, Esq.

Christie Geter is a partner with the New Mexico office of Jones, Skelton & Hochuli. She currently focuses her practice in the area of insurance defense litigation, where she defends clients in trucking and transportation matters, general liability, wrongful death, construction defect, and civil rights. Christie has experience arguing many cases in both criminal and civil courts in all stages of litigation through trial, and obtaining favorable decisions. Early in her practice Christie was awarded as the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association, Young Defense Lawyer of the Year in 2020. She has also been awarded, Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch, Transportation Law, 2024, 2025, and Southwest Super Lawyer Rising-Star, Insurance Coverage, 2024, 2025. Christie is active in the New Mexico legal community and is currently serving as 2025 President of the Albuquerque Bar Association. In the Fall of 2023, Christie co-authored “That’s Discoverable! How Medical Factoring Companies Impact Your Case” for US Law Magazine, regarding defending entities in discovery. Christie is dedicated to defending her clients, both big and small, through all stages of claims. She is constantly evaluating the ever-changing landscape of juries and how each unique jurisdiction poses both positive and negative attributes that will affect the litigation strategy.
