Brian A. Homza graduated from LSU Law School in 1979 and after accepting a one-year clerkship with the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals, he joined Cook, Yancey, King & Galloway and has enjoyed trying cases since that time. Brian has tried jury trials in all federal court districts in Louisiana and most state court parishes. With extensive trial experience, Brian began concentrating on the defense of first-party bad faith claims, and fraud claims. His trial work then expanded to include the defense of professional liability claims, including insurance agent error and omission claims. While in law school, he was selected to participate in the National Moot Court competition. He was named The Best Lawyers in America® from 2011-2020 for Insurance Law. He is listed by SuperLawyers as having attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement and later Lawyer of the Year in the areas of Insurance Coverage and Products Liability. He was formerly on the Board of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He was invited to join and is a long-time member of the Loss Executives Association and TIDA. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and, since 2001, has served on the subcommittee on Fire & Casualty Claims. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Certified Insurance Fraud Examiners, and the Harry V. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz American Inn of Court. He is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the North Louisiana Federal Bar Association. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Shreveport Bar Association, and is a two-time instructor for the Louisiana Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Chapter on investigation of fire and explosions.
